The SWOP outreach officer at ACON Illawarra works with people in the sex industry and provides:
- information, support and referral for private workers, parlours and street-based sex workers
- sexual health information for sex workers, management and clients
- safe sex supplies—condoms, lube, dams, sponges and gloves
- needle and syringe program on outreach
- information and education on laws affecting the Industry, including occupational health and safety.
An outreach service to the sex industry in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven areas is provided in partnership with other organisations and service providers.
