Project for Male Sex Workers in NSW
Join the SWOP "male" out project aimed at increasing HIV and STI prevention awareness and condom use among male sex workers in NSW. SWOP is sending a monthly "Male" out of worker packs and information to male sex workers who sign up to receive the packs. The packs include condoms, lube, and a copy of The Workers Handbook - Male Edition.
SWOP will promote the project in the escort sections of the gay press where male workers advertise.
Lance Schema, SWOP General Manager states “It’s important that we work to increase our profile with male sex workers as men – particularly men who have sex with men – who are at a higher risk of HIV and STI's. This project will allow us to better address their needs by engaging with them and hearing about what information and resources they require from us in order to ensure that their health and safety needs are met."
All packs will be discreetly sent and workers can decide what additional information (if any) they would like to receive from SWOP in the future.
